Technology and Education Industry: How Both Go Hand-in-hand

The e-learning sector was growing at a pace of 17 percent CAGR, but COVID-19 has taken the graph to a new height. With almost everyone confined to their homes, e-learning has become the new normal. It has become more important than ever for schools to embrace technology, if they want to keep up with the changing pace while ensuring that learning doesn’t suffer. Having said, let’s look at some of technology trends that schools are slowly adopting:

1. Cloud computing
With the introduction of smart learning technology for school, a lot of organisations have already moved to LMS and cloud systems. Cloud computing makes it easier for students and teachers to collaborate assignments, lectures, and other study materials at one place. This is time saving for teachers and students don’t have to check out multiple website to refer to the study material.

2. iPads and tablets
The iPads and tablet culture is slowly becoming a preferred school solutions in India. Teachers and students, both are using these devices for coding, learning new language, solving mathematical problems and even interacting with teachers.

3. Smart classes
The traditional concept of teaching is slowly going away. Almost every school is using smart boards to deliver audio-video lectures to students. Smart classes are really engaging, especially for kids because they are able to remember a concept due to the pictures and motions used in them.

4. Digitalization in schools
A few years ago, not many schools were open to the concept of digitalization. The teachers weren’t tech savvy and using technology was seen as an expense rather than investment. The game is changing slowly. Schools are using math labs and other digital ways to making learning easier and more fun for students.

5. Techathons and Workshops
Schools are embracing technology more than ever. In addition to music and sports clubs, they are also paying attention to having dedicated coding clubs, robotics and science clubs where students can learn by exploring. You will see many schools actively participating in techathons and conducting workshops to make curious minds think bigger and better.

Looking at the current scenario, we can say that technology culture has already made its way in the Indian education segment. While some schools have adopted it completely, others have laid the foundation. Over the coming years, expect a significant increase in this number and it will give education industry a new direction.
