If you are getting a new phone, then this means all your chat history gets deleted from your old phone. But don’t worry, there are many ways to take a backup and restore the chat history in your WeChat account. In this article, you will get to know the steps to export WeChat chat history on your phone.

Here’s how to export WeChat chat history

  1. You need to connect the old phone and new phone to the same WiFi network.
  2. Ensure that they are placed next to each other.
  3. Launch the WeChat application on the phone.
  4. Choose the Me option.
  5. Choose the Settings and Chats tab.
  6. Choose the Backup and Migrate Chats option.
  7. It is located on the next window.
  8. Choose the Migrate Chats to Another device option.
  9. Go through the checkboxes given near to the conversation which you have exported to the new phone.
  10. Otherwise, click on the Select All option.
  11. It is located at the end of the display.
  12. Choose the Done option after completing all these steps.
  13. Sign in to the WeChat account on the new phone.
  14. Start scanning the QR code provided on the old device.

You need to export all the conversations before confirming the QR code. In case you have not scanned the QR code before, then follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Sign in to the WeChat application.
  2. Choose the plus symbol.
  3. It is given at the upper side of the WeChat display.
  4. Choose the Scan option.
  5. It is located on the pull-down list which is showing on the screen.
  6. You need to take your camera towards the QR code.
  7. Complete the scanning procedure of the camera.

  1. Downloading and installing the WeChat for the computer.
  2. Launch the software.
  3. Sign in to the WeChat account by entering the email address and password.
  4. Choose the three lines menu symbol.
  5. It is located in the left-hand corner of the display.
  6. Choose the Backup and Restore option.
  7. You need to start backing up the computer.
  8. Click on the Backup All button on the iPhone or Android.
  9. Now, all the chat history will get stored on the PC.
  10. Choose a new phone.
  11. Sign in to the WeChat account.
  12. Choose the Restore option.
  13. It is located on the computer app menu.
  14. Choose all or any particular chats option for restoring all the conversation.
  15. After that, choose the OK button.
  16. Verify by choosing the Restore option on the iPhone or Android.
